Come and Find Rest — Matthew 11:28
Some tiredness cannot be solved simply by getting more sleep.
We can become tired from worry.
Tired from responsibility.
Tired from uncertainty.
Tired from carrying something emotionally or spiritually for longer than we expected.
Jesus speaks directly to people who know that kind of weariness:
Matthew 11:28
““Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Reflection / Encouragement
Notice where the invitation begins:
“Come to me.”
Jesus does not first give the weary a list of things they must accomplish.
He does not tell them to become stronger.
He does not tell them to get their lives completely organised and return later.
He invites them to himself.
“All you who labor and are heavily burdened…”
The invitation is specifically for people who know they are carrying something heavy.
That means our weariness does not disqualify us from coming to Christ.
It is part of the reason we come.
Then Jesus gives a promise:
“I will give you rest.”
There are burdens we still need to deal with responsibly.
There are situations that may not change immediately.
But we do not have to carry them as though everything depends entirely upon us.
Rest begins when we bring ourselves and what we are carrying to Christ.
We pray honestly.
We release what we cannot control.
We remember that we are not alone.
If you are weary today, hear the invitation again:
Come to Jesus.
Bring the burden with you.
And receive the rest he gives.
A Quiet Moment
If you feel weary today, take a quiet moment to bring what you are carrying to Jesus.
