Show Me the Way I Should Walk — Psalm 143:8
Each morning begins with things we know and things we do not.
There may be plans already in place, responsibilities waiting, decisions ahead, and questions we cannot yet answer.
Psalm 143:8 gives us a simple prayer for those moments:
Psalm 143:8
“Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning, for I trust in you. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you.”

Reflection / Encouragement
David begins by asking to hear of God’s loving kindness.
Before asking for direction, he remembers who he is trusting.
That order matters.
Guidance is not simply about receiving instructions. It grows out of a relationship of trust with the God whose love is faithful.
We may wish that God would show us the entire road ahead, but often we are given enough light for the next step rather than the whole journey.
Psalm 143:8 reminds us that this can be enough.
We can begin the day by lifting our hearts to God and asking him to guide the way we should walk.
Whatever today holds, you do not need to carry the entire path in your mind. Trust God with the next step and allow his loving kindness to steady you as you go.
A Quiet Moment
Begin today by placing your plans and questions into God’s hands.
If your thoughts feel crowded or your footing uncertain, you may also find encouragement in Psalm 94:18–19, where God’s loving kindness holds us up.
