Christian Quote of the Day — Brother Lawrence | October 10, 2026

Brother Lawrence is remembered especially for his simple teaching about practicing an awareness of God’s presence throughout everyday life.

This short statement comes from his Ninth Letter and captures that approach beautifully.

Life can become complicated very quickly. There are responsibilities to manage, decisions to make, people to care for, problems to solve, and countless things competing for our attention.

Brother Lawrence points us toward a much simpler question:

Am I seeking to please God in what I am doing right now?

That does not mean every moment needs to feel especially spiritual. Much of life is wonderfully ordinary.

We work.

We prepare meals.

We answer messages.

We help someone.

We rest.

We begin again tomorrow.

Those ordinary moments can still be lived with God in mind.

We do not have to wait for an extraordinary opportunity to live faithfully. We can quietly turn our hearts toward him in the moment already in front of us.
