CHRISTIAN QUOTE OF THE DAY

“There is no pit so deep that the love of God is not deeper still.”

— Corrie ten Boom

Source: Recorded by Pamela Rosewell Moore at a 1968 mission conference

Corrie ten Boom knew suffering in a way few of us would ever wish to experience.

During the Second World War, she and her family helped Jewish people escape Nazi persecution. Corrie was eventually imprisoned and sent to Ravensbrück concentration camp, where her sister Betsie died.

Yet suffering did not convince Corrie that God’s love had disappeared.

Instead, one of the messages she carried throughout the rest of her life was that God’s love reaches deeper than the darkest places we encounter.

That does not make suffering insignificant.

It does not mean that grief, fear, or pain suddenly become easy.

It means that none of those things can place us beyond God’s reach.

There may be moments when circumstances feel like a pit from which we cannot see a way out.

But God is not standing at a distance.

His love reaches into the places where hope feels difficult to find.

Sometimes the most important truth we can hold onto is not that everything will immediately become easier, but that even here, God’s love has not left us.

Quote Reflection

Some circumstances can feel so deep that we struggle to imagine a way beyond them.

Corrie ten Boom’s words remind us that no depth of suffering places us beyond the reach of God’s love. Wherever we find ourselves, his love reaches deeper still.
