I Will Not Be Shaken — Psalm 62:5–6
Waiting is rarely easy.
When something matters deeply to us, we often want answers, direction, or reassurance immediately. Silence can make us wonder whether anything is happening at all.
Psalm 62:5–6 offers another way to wait:
Psalm 62:5–6
“My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my expectation is from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken.”

Reflection / Encouragement
David speaks directly to his own soul, reminding himself where his expectation belongs.
Not in circumstances.
Not in other people.
Not even in his own ability to solve everything.
His expectation is from God.
That is what makes the next statement so powerful: God alone is his rock, salvation, and fortress.
The confidence of “I will not be shaken” does not mean that life will never become difficult. It means that beneath changing circumstances there is something—or rather Someone—unchanging.
We may not always receive answers as quickly as we would like. We may not immediately know what the next chapter will bring.
But we can become quiet before God and place our hope in him.
When life feels uncertain, remember where your foundation is. God remains your rock.
A Quiet Moment
Take a quiet moment today to become still before God and place your hope in him.
