CHRISTIAN QUOTE OF THE DAY
“All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well.”
— Julian of Norwich
Source: Revelations of Divine Love, Chapter XXVII
These famous words come from Julian of Norwich’s Revelations of Divine Love.
They were not written from a perspective that ignored suffering or difficulty. Julian wrestled with questions about sin, sorrow, and things that seemed impossible to reconcile with God’s goodness.
Within that struggle came this assurance:
“All shall be well.”
That does not mean every situation will immediately turn out the way we hope.
Faith does not require pretending that pain is painless or uncertainty is easy.
Instead, Julian’s words point toward confidence in a God whose understanding is far greater than our own.
There are things we cannot yet see.
There are questions we may carry for a long time.
There are circumstances whose purpose may remain unclear to us.
Yet our inability to see the whole picture does not mean God has lost sight of it.
Sometimes faith means placing what we cannot understand into his hands and trusting that his wisdom extends beyond the limits of our view.
Quote Reflection
Julian’s words do not promise that every moment will be easy. They invite us to trust that God’s wisdom and goodness extend beyond what we can presently understand.
When the outcome is unclear, we can still rest in the faithfulness of God and leave what we cannot see in his hands.
